An Internet-Based Learning Portfolio and Knowledge Management System

Michael Fung´s Main Interest/Directions

1.    Innovation in Medical Education:

  • Use of technology to facilitate an inquiry-based educational model in residency and post-residency training.
  • Educational knowledge management: Use of systems/Web-based tools to facilitate the enhancement of knowledge application.

2.     Cervical Cancer Screening:

  • Use of innovative diagnostic systems/tools to facilitate screening initiatives.

3.    Academic Leadership in Surgical Oncology:

  • To facilitate the development and integration of surgical oncology practice in the care of the cancer patient.

Ottawa Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario  as Active Staff and at  Queensway-Carleton Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario as Consulting Staff,  

Academic Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Ottawa, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ottawa, Ontario. At tjhis university he was Director of the Residency Training Program, from 1992 to 1998.

Academic Oncology

He is Consulting Staff to the Ontario Cancer Foundation, Ottawa, Director of the Regional Gynaecologic Oncology Program, Chairman of the Ontario Gynaecology Disease Site Group, Cancer Care Ontario,  Head  Surgical Oncology, University of Ottawa, Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
